Decoration of Tokyo 2020 Emblems in Cooperation with Private Facilities

In the build-up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 (hereafter “the Tokyo 2020 Games”), the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has enjoyed the cooperation of various owners of private facilities (“facility owners”) in a project to decorate facilities with the emblems of the Tokyo 2020 Games, implemented as detailed below.

(1) Outline

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is the principal agent in the decoration project, conducted with the cooperation* of the facility owners. The project involves decorating the exteriors of private facilities with the emblems of the Tokyo 2020 Games until the Games have ended.

Note*) The cooperation includes the production of the decorations, their placement, and their disposal.

(2) Applicable Private Facilities

① The facility must be a landmark building and can contribute to build up a festive atmosphere for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

② The facility and/or its location must not adversely affect the image of the Tokyo 2020 Games.

③ The facility must not fall under any ambush marketing taking advantage of the Tokyo 2020 Games, etc.

(3) Implementation Period

From The day the agreement is entered into by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the facility owners, lasting until the end of the Tokyo 2020 Games.

(4) Application Start Date

3 August 2018
