COVID-19 Countermeasures in Host Towns and at Pre-Games Training Camps

The Coordination Meeting for COVID-19 Countermeasures at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020

In cooperation with the national government and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) issued its interim summary containing COVID-19 countermeasures and schedules for three major categories: athletes, Games stakeholders, and spectators, based on discussions at the Coordination Meeting for COVID-19 Countermeasures at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 held in December 2020.
The support for Host Towns, etc. have also been discussed and included in the interim summary.

For Accepting Athletes, etc.

For accepting athletes in the Host Towns, etc., each municipality hosting athletes is required to create an acceptance manual in accordance with the national government’s guidelines that includes health management and COVID-19 countermeasures for athletes that covers traveling and staying at accommodations, and to obtain agreement from partner countries and regions.
